Sustainable Fashion and Textiles Forum

Dr Ruth Cherrington and her team organised and inspiring and thought-provoking event for the southwest in Truro on 10th September. The day was packed with workshops, expert insights and discussion. The keynote speaker was from the Circular Textile Foundation.  We had an expert panel that comprised WRAP, Lemon Street Studios and The British School of Fashion.  Just before lunch there were some excellent workshops that encouraged small groups to meet and discuss how to tackle current and future challenges with an emphasis of the Southwest region.  After lunch there we heard conversations between academics and Amy Brock-Morgan from Finisterre, The Wave Project, Colour Earth and Circular Flow.

“The current system is damaging to earth; we need a closer relationship to what we own and who makes it.  This means we begin to foster a deeper connection with what lives in our wardrobes, and thus start treating them as trusted friends. My mission is to communicate, educate and shift the way we think about clothes” (Amy Brock-Morgan)
