I love clothes, maybe you do too? But the system for producing and consuming them is broken. We want our clothes to make us feel proud, to express who we are, to make us feel better about ourselves. Rather than feel guilty about people who aren’t paid enough to send their child to school or reprimanded if they join a union to protest. By learning the techniques needed to fix up our clothes we can re populate our wardrobes with beautifully repaired and altered pieces. Fashion needs to become a force for good, an industry which values people, the environment, creativity and profit in equal measure. Which means we need to think about what we buy and why we buy.

We need to love the clothes we already have more.

We need to look after them like trusted friends.
